One of the mainstays of Marionetes Nòmades is the audiovisual production, mainly focused on the universe of puppets. Several documentary short films have been filmed under the direction of the filmmaker Elena Molina to give visibility to stories of people who transformed their life thanks to puppets. The beginning of this project was shoot between January and February 2013 in Burkina Faso.
The Puppet Cemetery
After dedicating the whole of his life to puppets, Désiré has had to abandon them for a while. However his friend Fabe, among her various jobs has decided to create her own puppet performance to teach children how important it is to attend school. A cemetery of puppets in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, is the starting point of this story full of dreams and aims.

Every summer, when N’Sele Malone’s uncle came back to Burundi, all the family gathered to watch his puppet shows. Malone was twelve and he was only interested in playing football and being with his friends.One day, while playing in the street, something happened which changed completely his future. Twenty years later he is one of the most recognized puppeteers in West Africa. It’s only through the puppets that he builds and plays that he can heal and transform his memories.
